News from June 2021 – the start of our 500 series.
It’s finally time! In addition to our 19" devices, we are now officially entering the world of 500 series modules.
We are super stoked to introduce you to our brand new Vocal Leveler!
The Vocal Leveler is a classic opto compressor with no frills. With just two knobs for gain reduction and output volume you have exactly the parameters at hand that you really need to achieve fast and convincing results.
Thanks to the link function and stepped potentiometers nothing stands in your way of processing stereo signals and easily recalling your settings. You can also control the reaction times of the compressor using a toggle switch and are thus prepared for a wide variety of recording or mixing situations.
What the Vocal Leveler 500 Is
The Vocal Leveler 500 is the opto compressor from our Vari Tube Recording Channel, brought into the compact 500-series format. The signal path: an in-house input transformer provides a harmonic base saturation from the start, then comes the proven opto circuit of the VTRC, and a FET at the end gives the signal a warm, tube-like refinement. The particularly musical control behaviour typical of opto compressors brings the signal to an even level and densifies it without squashing it – the micro-dynamics remain intact. That is why the Vocal Leveler is not just for voices: bass, acoustic guitar and similar signals get along just as well with its soft, unobtrusive compression, and even driven harder it stays transparent – also as overload protection while recording.
