The unboxing was awesome, the review is in a class of its own! The Canadian Youtuber Chris Selim has tried the Creme and shows in his review what our mastering specialist is capable of.

Chris Selim is a musician, recording and mixing engineer, and the owner of the Mixdown Online platform, which helps homestudio owners and musicians improve their productions.
He has been much in demand in the Canadian music industry, produced artists in Canada, USA, France, Belgium and Switzerland and has worked on more than 75 albums over the last 14 years. For this he uses modern technologies and, apart from his recording studio in Montreal, also works with his clients directly via the internet.
What Happens in the Video
Chris Selim had the Creme in use for a month and a half: in mastering, on his mix bus – and with just one channel even on a vocal recording, "and it worked very well"; an overhead bus he mentions as another option. In the video he goes through every control: bypass for the whole unit (EQ or compressor alone are taken out via boost 0 or the threshold), side-chain low cut with 6 dB per octave at 60 or 120 Hz, the EQ↔compressor switch, detented threshold for recall, attack 0.1–30 ms, release 0.1–1.2 s or auto – the auto release changes with the material and adds movement to the sound –, ratio 1.5 to 10:1, plus low boost 20–200 Hz and high boost 10–24 kHz with up to 5 dB each. Then come the sound examples and his verdict.

On price he says the unit is not made for every home-studio budget – but anyone who knows analog gear knows what it is worth: "for what you get with this unit, the price is a very good one". The unboxing video is mostly about the wooden box the Creme arrives in: "that treasure box, that was quite a surprise" – one he is definitely keeping.
What the Creme Is – and Why It Sits on the Mix Bus
The Creme is our bus compressor and mastering equalizer: a passive Pultec-style EQ and an SSL-style VCA bus compressor in one 2U unit. The order is switchable – EQ before the compressor or compressor before the EQ. On the mix bus the compressor pulls the separate parts into one whole, almost inaudibly at a 1.5:1 ratio, with a rhythmic signature of its own at higher ratios and faster timing; a side-chain filter keeps frequencies below 60 or 120 Hz out of the control circuit. The EQ offers a bass boost between 20 and 200 Hz and a high boost between 10 and 24 kHz, each 0–5 dB, every value on a rotary switch – which is why every setting is exactly reproducible.
