What is analog summing and what does it bring to my mix? Quite simply, with analog summing you get the classic sound of the legendary analog mixing consoles, but without having to own such an expensive and large console. Any questions? Then take a look at David's extensive video on the subject!

What Happens During Analog Summing in the Tube Summing Mixer
Analog summing means: the individual tracks leave the DAW through the converters, are combined in the Tube Summing Mixer in the analog domain, and come back as a stereo sum. The TSM's mix stages are built from tubes and transformers, and those are exactly what deliver the console vibe David describes. Our own description of the result: an open, defined and at the same time warm sound in which the mix is no longer trapped between the speakers but opens up into the room. The convenience of working digitally stays intact, because the TSM itself has no settings you would need to recall – just a stepped output switch in -3 dB increments instead of a potentiometer. With 2×20 channels (2×16 via sub-D in Tascam layout, 2×4 via stereo TRS) one unit is enough for most mixes, and several can be cascaded. Mono tracks simply go into the lower TRS jack of a channel pair – they automatically land in the phantom center.
