Natural rooms you only hear when they're gone.
The Raumzeitmaschine gives your music a room to sit in.
It adds real depth, the kind you stop noticing until you switch it off and the mix suddenly feels flat.
The surprising thing is how natural it stays even when you push it somewhere that could not exist.
A small storeroom with three seconds of decay should sound like an obvious effect, and instead it still sounds like a place you could walk into.
That comes from the way it is built.
A processor works out the space, and the sound then passes through real tubes and transformers.
That analog path gives the room its body, and it is exactly what software on its own cannot reproduce.
Yes, tubes and transformers!
This is also why the Raumzeitmaschine does not sound like a typical digital reverb.
Real tubes and real transformers sit in the signal path: two double triodes per channel, an input transformer and an output transformer.
That is also why it only has analog inputs and outputs.
A digital connection would leave out exactly the parts that give the sound its character.
The tubes and transformers are also your color control.
The input stage is built so that the converter behind it can never clip. Drive it with a hotter signal and the transformers and the tube stage respond instead: first they gently squeeze the peaks together, then they add even more harmonics than they already do, and at some point they move into honest analog distortion.
All of it stays musical.
Hard digital clipping simply never happens.
Three controls, no menus
Shaping the room takes three controls: room size, density and decay time.
You reach over, turn and listen, the way you would play an instrument, and the sound follows right away.
Input, mix and pre-delay sit next to them as helpers, so nobody has to climb through hundreds of parameters, and the room is usually set before the idea behind it has a chance to get lost.
Total recall, fully analog
Every control sits on a servo motor.
You can work on the front panel, on the device's own web page, or in the Raumzeitmaschine plug-in inside your DAW (VST, AU, AAX).
The plug-in carries no audio and computes nothing. It only moves the knobs, which means your session recalls a fully analog tube reverb as easily as it recalls any plug-in setting.
Turn a knob on the hardware and the plug-in follows, and when you open last week's mix, the motors quietly turn everything back to where it was.
Preset management lives in your DAW or in the plug-in, and we left it off the device on purpose.
If you remember programming the timer on a VCR, you know why.
The connection runs over Ethernet.
There is no cable-length limit as with USB, and wireless over your router works too.
Real rooms, and impossible ones
The natural rooms are the starting point, and you are not fenced into them.
Turn the decay far past what the room size would ever allow in the real world and the result gets unusual, yet it still behaves like a place instead of collapsing into an obvious effect.
Sometimes that impossible room is exactly what a mix needs, and finding out costs you about a second.

The Raumzeitmaschine will not replace a plate or a spring, and it is not trying to. Its own spatiality is what earns it the seat as the main reverb in a setup.

For economic and environmental reasons, we refrained from throwing away everything with the old logo. Instead, we will replace all parts and materials piece by piece. Of course, when you buy a unit, you get the same quality no matter what logo is on the outside.
Use the plugins context menu (right click) to show the IP address of the Raumzeitmaschine. You can also go directly to the Raumzeitmaschine website from the context menu.
The Raumzeitmaschine gets its IP address from a local DHCP server in you network. You will find the DHCP server in your internet router or network server. Look for a list of taken IP addresses.

Option 1
Use a Wifi repeater with LAN connector.It builds a bridge between the ethernet of the device and your Wifi network.
Option 2
Connect the device via network cable to your computer and enable internet sharing.The device needs a DHCP server to get an IP address. Bridge the two network connections on your PC so the router's DHCP server can reach the device.
- Open
Control Panel→Network and Internet→Network Connections - Select both network interfaces (your router connection and the TAM device connection) by holding Ctrl and clicking both
- Right-click and select

The device will now receive an IP address from your router and will be found by the plug-in automatically.
Set a static IP address on your PC's Ethernet interface manually.

Simply set up an Internet share for your Mac's network interface.
Go to
System Preferences->Shares, select Internet Sharing on the left. At
Share connection, select your internet connection (e.g. WLAN). At
With computer via: select the interface that is connected to the device.
Now the device will get an IP address and will be found by the plugin.
