1. Controller

Phone: +49 30 49 79 26 74, email: contact@tegeler.com
2. Visiting the website, server log files and hosting
Each time you visit our website, the web server automatically stores a server log file containing your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page. We use this data only to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure operation of the website. We delete the log files no later than seven days after your visit.
The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in data centres in the European Union. Hetzner processes the data exclusively on our behalf and according to our instructions (Art. 28 GDPR).
Using a database stored on our own server (MaxMind GeoLite2), we determine from your IP address the country you are visiting from, so that we can show prices with the correct VAT. We do not pass your IP address on to MaxMind or any other third party for this purpose. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
3. Customer account, orders, trial units, repairs and contact
We process the data you provide when you place an order, create a customer account, request a trial unit, submit an RMA or repair request, or contact us by email or phone. Mandatory fields are marked in the respective form; without them we cannot process the contract or your request.
We use this data to perform the contract and to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, and for general enquiries Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering your enquiry).
You can have your customer account deleted at any time by writing to contact@tegeler.com or using the function in your customer account. After the contract has been completed, we retain contract data for as long as tax and commercial retention obligations apply (usually six to ten years, Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR) and restrict its processing during this time.
4. Email
For our emails we use Microsoft 365 provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland, as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to Microsoft Corporation in the USA; Microsoft is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR).
5. Payment processing
Depending on the payment method you choose, we pass the data required for payment to the respective payment service provider (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Their privacy notices apply in addition.
- Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland: card payments and other payment methods at checkout, and depositing a card as security for trial units
- Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden: if you choose Klarna at checkout. Klarna checks your identity and creditworthiness under its own responsibility.
- PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, 2449 Luxembourg
On product pages we load program code from Stripe (Stripe.js) to show you the option of paying with Klarna; on the payment pages we also load program code from PayPal. These providers receive technical data such as your IP address and device information, also for fraud prevention. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR. Information on transfers to third countries can be found in the providers' privacy notices.
6. Credit check
If we provide goods or services in advance, for example when you buy on account, we transmit the data required for an identity and credit check, in particular name and address, to EUROSOLVENT Inkasso GmbH & Co. KG, Wittestraße 31, 13509 Berlin, Germany. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is protection against payment defaults. You can present your point of view to us at any time and request that the decision be reviewed by a human. After the contract has been completed, we delete the data processed for this purpose unless retention obligations apply.
7. Software licences
For licensing and activating our plug-ins we use the Keyzy service of Kollitom Ltd, Labs Atrium, The Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH, United Kingdom. Your licence key and data about the devices on which you activate the licence are processed. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. An adequacy decision of the European Commission exists for the United Kingdom (Art. 45 GDPR).
8. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we send you an email with a confirmation link (double opt-in). Only after confirmation do we add you to the mailing list. To prove your consent, we store the time, IP address and browser identifier of the confirmation. We use your email address and any voluntary information to send you news about products, promotions and updates. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by writing to contact@tegeler.com.
9. AI assistant in the FAQ
If you ask the AI assistant in our FAQ a question, we transmit your questions and the conversation history to Anthropic PBC, USA, which generates the answers using its language model Claude. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to answer your questions quickly. The transfer to the USA is based on EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). Please do not enter any personal data in the chat.
10. Cookies and consent
We use technically necessary cookies so that the shopping basket, login, language setting and your cookie choice work. The legal basis is Section 25 (2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR.
We only use Google Ads and Meta (sections 11 and 12) if you consent in the cookie banner (Section 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future using the "Privacy settings" link in the footer of every page. We store your choice in cookies: consent for 365 days, rejection for 14 days.
11. Google Ads conversion tracking
With your consent we use Google Ads conversion tracking provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This lets us measure whether visitors complete an order after clicking one of our Google ads and target our ads better. Cookies are set and data such as IP address, device information and interactions with our website are transmitted to Google. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR).
12. Meta Pixel and Conversions API
With your consent we use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. This lets us measure the success of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and show relevant ads there to visitors of our website. The pixel sets cookies in your browser. Via the Conversions API our server sends events such as page views, basket, demo registration and purchase directly to Meta. The data transmitted are IP address, browser identifier, page visited and event data, and for logged-in customers also customer number, email address, phone number, name, city, postcode and country, so that Meta can match the events.
We and Meta are joint controllers for the collection and transmission of this data (Art. 26 GDPR). The agreement is available at www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. Meta alone is responsible for any further processing. Data may be transferred to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA; Meta is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
13. YouTube videos
On some pages we embed videos from YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When such a page loads, your browser connects to Google servers and transmits your IP address and technical data. YouTube may only use cookies or similar technologies once you play a video. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is presenting product videos. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
14. Links to social networks
We link to our profiles on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook. These are simple links. Data is only transferred to the respective provider when you click a link.
15. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)). Please contact contact@tegeler.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, which is responsible for us.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may object to processing for direct marketing purposes at any time without giving reasons; we will then no longer process your data for this purpose.
